When I need to talk to a certain person in Norway I touch messenger and then the picture of the person i want to talk with and with luck we connect with sound and video. Using a classic phone call is very expensive and this is free or almost free.

 

Now I need to set up a new connection with a new person in Norway. I have the phone number and nothing else. How do I go about doing this ?

Add New Friend By Phone Number

To add a contact by their phone number, sign in to Facebook Messenger and select the People tab.

Next, tap the + button:
 

Enter the phone number of the user that you would like to add. Facebook will search for the user and give you the option to add them as a friend:
 

If the user is not yet active on Facebook Messenger, tap Invite them to join to send a chat invitation.
