best way withdraw money into ireland

i went to kasikorn today pattaya klnag, tried withdraw 2 million, cashier tells me i can only withdraw 1.3 million to ireland.    ok nevermind,  then she says i cannot withdraw it in thai baht and lket my irish bank ( allied irish bank )  do the conversion.  dont understand why but she says i must send it in Euro.as she says that to send in thai baht it would also be too expensive .

so, i told her i would be back at 8.30am to make transfer after i do some research ie ask you guys on here and also get in touch with moneycorp.com  or someone like that .

why use moneycorp , will they even save me money and what way would that work ? 

should i just make the transfer in euro and get it to hell over with ?
