WhamBam
Having just finished watching The White Queen, - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2372220/?ref_=nv_sr_1 I think it is brilliant. Definitely on a par with the Tudors. Good plot, plenty of ladies being sh*gged, be-headings and the usual twists and turns. We Brits really do have some fantastic history. A great shame we did not have this sort of thing to portray history when I was at school, I'd have loved it. We had things like Lancelot, William Tell and Robin Hood. I have finished watching The Fall series 1 & 2 starring Gillian Anderson. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2294189/?ref_=nv_sr_1 I really enjoyed that too. Grantchester - as Bookman mentioned a while back. Easy going and very enjoyable, also historically based. Loving that at the moment. It seems I have missed out on a lot of great television while I was in Thailand living life, drinking beer and rocking and rolling. Now I need a fix of blood, guts, sex and violence. Oh, wait...... I just had that in the White Queen. More please !! Getting Justified Series 6 now. When the series has finished I'll be watching that. Downloaded 1066 (year 2009) on a freeleech. That will be next on my list. I hope it is as good as I expect. What next.....

uptheos
A Walk Among The Tombstones (2014) A man believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can't stand idly by - he has to help her. Not a bad movie, worth a watch. GrantSmith
Watched the Bio-pic of Chris Kyle - aka American Sniper - last night... Definitely a well put together movie, but can't see it taking out any majors, outside chance at Best Film or Best Director... The thing that annoyed me most about that movie? Chris Kyle and his <deleted> hat fetish... Would've like to have seen a bit more of the Jesse Ventura thing played out in this and I hope that bastard gets his lawsuit overturned on appeal.

Popular Post craigt3365
Due to the state of affairs here in Thailand, we've decided it's best not to allow links to sites where you can either get downloads for movies illegally or do online viewing. Like it or not, it is illegal to download copyrighted material. Discussing movies is fine. Giving links to download sites is not. Sorry. We love this thread, but right now, have to be very careful. We appreciate your understanding.
AnotherOneAmerican
Wild Card was quite entertaining, with Jason (The Transporter) Statham. Bit violent in places, but what do you expect from a former SAS person.
kayo
Locke (Tom Hardy, pretty much solo effort) is pretty introspective. If you're in the right frame of mind it can be quite good. (I should point out my life is crumbling down around me at the moment, so that be a factor in my appreciation, as that is what pretty much happens to him during a two hour road trip.)

Popular Post Foxman888
Loving having Justified back on, sadly this is the last series but probably best not to just keep doing it for the sake of it. Boyd Crowder is a great character, just love his speeches, plus Sam Elliott is in this final series (No tache though, what the hell is that all about!!) Black Sails Series 2 - Didn't realise this was back, just stumbled across it by accident looking for something else. Enjoyed the first series - Cheesy? Yes Cliched? Yes But good fun.

Popular Post Frank James
Oldies but Goodies... I saw Unforgiven when it first came out (1992, big awards sweeper), and don't recall being particularly moved by it. Desperate for something to watch last night, I played it, and this time it really knocked me out. This may be one of the greatest westerns ever made. Clint Eastwood plays an over the hill former drunken desperado who travels with a couple of unlikely partners several hundred miles on horseback to kill a couple of cowboys just to collect a mythical $1000 offered by a troupe of badly mistreated whores. Gene Hackman gives an outstanding performance as the sadistic sheriff, "Little Bill." There's a priceless early scene on a train featuring Richard Harris as "English Bob", who infuriates a group of Americans who are grieving over the recent assassination of President James A. Garfield. They are deeply offended when Bob tells them that America should have a King or Queen, as nobody ever tries to kill one of those, because, as loyal subjects, they are in such deep, heartfelt awe of the monarch. This statement doesn't go down well with the locals, but they do nothing, as they get a look at the ivory-handled gun Bob is packing. Bob is also on his way to "Big Whiskey. Wyoming", to take on the job of taking down the cowboys. Instead, he runs into Little Bill and the boys, and gets treated very badly. NINE point FIVE! One great Western like this is better than any number of contemporary mindless "action" films.
Ulysses G.
Agreed on Forgiven, but I really liked it when it first came out.I really liked Kingdom too, but it is a lot more about a bunch of flawed characters than fighting.
