maxme
Homefront. Action style movie. Script by Sylvester Stallone. Jason Statham as the good guy. James Franco as the bad guy. Winona Ryder as Franco's GF. Fairly much as bad as his acting. While watching this movie I felt like I had seen it before. I hadn't, but it is that type of movie. 5/10 from me I liked it more than you. I thought that it was very decent for an action movie. Also saw Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone and Arnie. I felt about the same about that one too. Neither one is for intellectuals. I'm with you on this one BookMan. Saw it last night and felt the same way, like I'd seen it before. I like Jason Statham, but he's really typecast in that sort of role now. He's either ex DEA, special forces, hitman, etc etc. I noticed the screenplay was by Sly Stallone so they're probably close after the Expendables. I know they're action movies etc but would like to see him in something a bit "meatier" if you know what I mean. What type of alternative role do you see him playing Will? I like Statham in his action roles but I agree he is typecast. I guess though, it is one of the reasons I like him in the role. Tough, no nonsense, fighting for the underdog. . I'd hate to see him do a Vin Diesel and try and change his career. Why on why Vin didn't you do the XXX sequels!? I really like my action movies, probably with crime and War and Post apocalyptic one of my favorite genres. Speaking of Vin. I watched the latest Riddick the other week. I was looking forward to this one....Boy, what a load of crap it turned out to be. 3/10 from me Ideally, I'd like to see him play something like Robert De Niro's undercover CIA character in Ronin. Even actions guys like Bruce Willis, Sly Stallone and even Arnie played some different roles in pretty good movies. I loved Statham in Lock Stock. I like action movies as well, but I would still like to see him in something where he doesn't have to belt dozens of guys like Bruce Lee. I quite liked him in the Expendables also. Am I the only one that thought that Snatch wad better than Lock Stock? Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

maxme
Will27 - Though I enjoyed Lock Stock, my opinion was that Snatch had a better set of characters. Statham, Jones, Farina... In fact most of the cast shine in this movie. Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
BookMan
There is a first episode of an alternate version of Big Bang Theory that was never aired that can be downloaded. It is pretty interesting. Hmm just watched this on Youtube. Don't it would have been half as successful with this version of Sheldon. Subtly different from the version we know and love....current Sheldon would never have porn in his sock drawer! Finally caught up with this Pilot episode of Big Bang Theory that was never aired. Sheldon's character was about the same, except for the sexual references...and dancing The character of Gilda seemed to have good future possibilities. I can also see Katie having worked over Penny You can find it on the Pirate by searching for 'Big Bang Theory Pilot' Edited February 18, 2014 by BookMan

BookMan
Fresh out today. Latest episodes of: Shameless (US) Walking Dead True detective Also, another very promising crime series has started, well a pilot episode anyway. Bosch. Based on the novels and character Harry Bosch from the novels of Michael Connelly. He is one of fave crime authors and his Harry Bosch series was great stuff Has a good cast and the pilot episode indicates it could be a good series if it goes full production. It is one of the Amazon Pilot series. If enough people vote for it they will make the full series.
GrantSmith
I thought Jason Priestly was a total hack of an actor (actually, I still do).. But over the weekend - nothing was tickling my fancy on the usual sources - I strapped myself in for a marathon for a TV show called Fitz. It's really a totally stupid storyline but funny (maybe because I hadn't seen it before and there was nothing else on) and damn it's full of the colourful language - I thought there was something wrong with my TV as it stammered over the words. So probably best to download it sans pausing over the offensive language Thank <insert deity of choice> the Winter Olympics is over! RETURN TO NORMAL PROGRAMMING!

BookMan
A few random movies that are doing the rounds. Someone Marry Barry – Rom com/childhood friends in adulthood comedy. Has some laughs and entertaining moments throughout. Looks like it was done on a small budget. 6.5/10 The Armstrong Lie – Documentary about Lance Armstrong and his drug confessions and history of drug use. Contains interviews with Lance. One thing to come out of the doco is Lance seems unrepentant about his drug cheating. 6/10 Seal patrol (aka BlackJacks). The private security contractor team of Blackjacks are sent into a facility to rescue a scientist. It is there a creature from another dimension has been unleashed. 4/10 Knights of Badassdom - I was hoping for a few laughs than this was able to provide. Typical stoner D&D/Role playing conjuring up demons style fare. 3/10 Jamesy Boy -- Feel good based on real life events type story. Teen delinquent makes good of his life. I enjoy these type of feel good movies. Watchable enough. 5.5/10

GrantSmith
Caught up in the boredom that was the Winter Olympics... Came across a new series called "About a Boy" yup based on the book and then movie... First episode in and gotta say, it's not too bad. Pretty funny, Minnie Driva's still a fox. Disappointed Leslie Bibb only gets 1 episode, she was looking "good" in the first episode Could be a good find... The Following; Finally! Hardy calls for backup and Weston grows a pair. Must say though, I'm enjoying this new character Max

GrantSmith
The American's is back for a second season! Chicago P.D, Law & Order - SVU, NCIS, NCIS - Los Angeles and Chicago Fire all back on the air this week - what a relief! I'm really liking Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D (it's my new favorite) - really good connection for a spin off, a lot of overlapping. Interesting to see how The American's goes for the 2nd season, did enjoy the 1st - even the wife did! NCIS / NCIS Los Angeles continue to maintain their excellent storylines, cameo from Danny Trejo in this weeks episode of NCIS Los Angeles - plays a good character as well... Watched this over some noodles today. has some promise. It's a decent cast. Impressive effort to squeeze the entire movie into the first 22 minute episode. Another new comedy out (amazon pilot again). The Rebels. About a woman, whose husband dies and leaves her his football team (worth 700 million$). Shows promise, if it goes into full production.
