Ninety-one motorcyclists and pillion riders were arrested on Friday night in an ongoing crackdown on street racing in Bangkok.

Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal, the deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau, said five of the arrested were teenage girls. He said 70 of the arrested were under 18 years old.

The arrests were made by police manning road checkpoints under nine police stations: Klong Tan, Thong Lor, Tha Rua, Phra Khanong, Lumpini, Wat Phrayakrai, Bang Na, Thung Mahamek and Bang Phong Phang.

They were arrested after their motorcycles were found to have been illegally modified with apparent intention for racing. Police seized 76 motorcycles in the operation, Surachet said.

In Thailand, unfortunately, the Army is the past, present and the future!

Best way to fix this continuing issue is :

  • to take all the bikes from the offenders at the scene.
  • remove all gasoline and oil
  • place the motorcycles on the roadway for all to see
  • Have the army drive one of their tanks over them several times
  • insist that the owners remove them to their own property
  • problem solved !

More armchair stereotyping.

The amount of top class crims that went to finishing school aka the army is mind bogglingly big.

I wont ask how many thai young people you know as it will involve counting past 2 ..maybe
