Junta Won’t Summon Pro-Election Activists: Spokesman

BANGKOK — The junta has said they will not call in pro-democracy protesters for questioning after they staged a rally calling for elections.

 

Responding to a government spokesman’s comment yesterday that the junta would not summon Democracy Restoration Group protesters for their weekend rally at Thammasat University, the activists said Monday they would have ignored such a request anyway.

The Junta will do nothing as long as they support the Junta !

Sansern said Sunday that the junta “was not looking at” calling the protesters in for questioning because “these days the government has a lot of work to do.”

 

To be fair they are wise to not acknowledge the protests or stir up more angst ahead of the 4th anniversary. Right now they need as little media attention as possible to maintain order.

 

Let's see if a march on Government House passes as quietly. 

Such an oppressive regime! Where were the tanks and bullets?

More importantly where were the other 60 million thais?

Rolling back on Doi Suthep, or making those noises, and not allowing gatherings while not quite making it legal to do so.   It is all in the junta's favor.  They are diffusing the situation, hoping to become liked in some way.  Still, they are not good for the country.

No one afraid of the big bad wolf anymore. No grounds to summon; the police has given approval. All those extra judiciary detentions are not scaring those activists. Even the courts defying police charges to detent them. The negative ground sentiments must have to start to register with the junta that their days are numbered and better play nice.

The Junta are obviously aware that they have the support of the masses. 3 to 4 hundred is totally pathetic after around 4 years of power there should be hundreds of thousands of protesters IF it were an oppressive regime but Saturdays march showed that is just nonsense drummed up by big bwana we know whats best for Thailand  annalists on TV

“If we have elections today, but no one respects the law, then having democracy would be in vain.” Absolutely spot on! Now go tell that to Man-Child and Dumbo. It would probably go over their heads though, especially Dumbo's. Good 'ole Dumbo.

And so when will the junta drop the charges against those already being prosecuted???
