Dr. Liviu Vedrasco, of the WHO’s Bangkok office said, “If you take motorcycles out of the equation, Thailand’s roads will be as safe as Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom". Logical fallacy. What do you think will happen when you remove two wheeled vehicles AND REPLACE THEM with 4 wheeled? That's the part you omitted. All the bad motorcycle drivers start driving much more powerful autos much more recklessly. They don't just stop driving. Without a competent national campaign to correct Thai driving behaviors, they will continue to be at or near the top globally for road deaths. On western roads motorbike riders have a 30 to 40 times greater risk of dying as compared to car drivers. Increase the number of bikes and deaths go up. Decrease the number of bikes and deaths go down.
