A huge billboard in downtown Bangkok has peaked the interest of passersby and motorists - mostly male, though wives are bound to wonder about it too.

 

The billboard advertises a new app called "Youex" and features a middle aged man surrounded by pretty women with the words in Thai:

 

"Go out with a friend".

 

A Facebook review site has delved into the matter and found out that Youex is offering "friends" for restaurant visits, movies and shopping. 

 

Just type the time and where you are - and pay - and a "friend" will be delivered to your door. 

 

They promise that the person will be safe, polite and have good conversation skills.

 

But there is to be absolutely no hanky-panky - they are Thai after all.....

 

So it's only for daytime meets not overnight. 

 

They will not engage in sex and must not be taken to drink alcohol or do drugs.

 

No illegal acts, no inappropriate places and nothing in private will be tolerated. 

 

The new app featured on Facebook on the "Review in Review" site and was reported on by Sanook. 

 

Here at Thaivisa we are still not sure that the wife will understand that it is all harmless....

We ordered an escort many years ago and had to pay up front.

Churches are safe but for one or two denominations you should use caution. Thai temples are definitely a no-no.

I happen to think some innocent companionship is refreshing to enjoy dining, movies, etc. without the sexual or financial overtones.
