Is TM 30 essential when staying for a few weeks at my property

Featured Replies

I'm going for five weeks on a Tourist  Visa staying at my condo for all my stay  . I think there's a general requirement to report to Chonburi Immigration within three days and complete a TM30 form.  But I'm wandering what would happen if I didnt and if it could cause me a problem . Would it be picked up by Immigration at the airport on departure or at a future visit ?

Of course by law you are required to submit it within 24 hours, but in reality if you don't visit the immigration office (for example to get an extension of stay, a certificate of residence or something like that) nobody will check if you submitted one

The only penalty is a maximum fine of 2,000 baht.

Definitely not at the airport. I guess it’s possible the local office might notice a missing past report, but I’ve never heard of it happening, and don’t believe it would happen.

Unless you’re planning contact with the local office during your five week stay not reporting is unlikely to be discovered.
