webfact
Siamese Ruby potentially worth a million baht dug up by villager in Trat Picture: Sanook Experts from Kaset University in Bangkok confirmed that a red stone dug up in a disused mining pit in Bor Rai district of Trat is in fact a Siamese Ruby. Dr Krit Wan-In said that it weighs 6.25 carats and could be worth a million baht or more. It proves that there are still such finds to be made in the district, he said. The stone - in its natural uncut state - is now in the safe hands of the district chief Panuwat Phutkaysorn after the finder handed it in. A decision will be made as to what will happen to the stone that may end up in a local gem museum. An unspecified sum was paid to the person who found it. Sanook said the finder was happy with the sum paid. Source: Sanook -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-06-

Can pay the fine next time they sit half naked on a car rush hour, or when they kick somebody in the head. The 500 baht they were given is nothing short of a get out of jail free card
