June 8, 20188 yr Magic Skin armpit case postponed By The Nation File photo Public prosecutors have postponed until July 12 their decision whether to indict four individuals and one firm linked to the Magic Skin Co Ltd case, asking the police to find more evidence and the court to temporarily release the suspects. Ahead of the June 9 deadline for the suspects' detention period, the Office of the Attorney General's Office of Economic Crime Litigation on Friday announced the result of their meeting to review the police case about Treechada armpit whitening serum, which Magic Skin had hired Hanew Korea Co to manufacture on its behalf. The prosecutors said police investigators had to clarify many points, including a public fraud charge against four suspects in the case. "Police have to prove how the manufacturing and distributing of such products are considered public fraud based on more forensic evidence than just a toxin test result," prosecutors said, adding that they also must prove if the serum contained ingredients registered with the Food and Drug Administration and whether it had the properties advertised. This case report claiming 145 people suffered from Bt113.2-million worth of damage from the product, submitted by the police early this month, recommended the prosecutors indict six defendants. They are: Korn Puangson, 37, in his capacity as Magic Skin executive, and Korn as an individual suspect; his wife Wannapa Puangson, 34, who owns the Magic Skin brand; Treechada Jaisabai; Hanew Korea; and Hanew executive Pajaree Wongsomboon. Police said all six should be charged for conspiring to manufacture and distribute fake cosmetics, which is punishable with up to two years in prison and a Bt200,000 in fine. They also said four of the suspects should face two charges of public fraud, punishable with up to five years in prison and Bt10,000 in fines, and inputting false information onto a computer system resulting in damage to the public, which is punishable with up to five years in prison and Bt100,000 in fines. June 9, 20188 yr Treechada armpit whitening serum. Learning the existence of this product kind of boggles the mind. Research indicated there is a huge competitive market for this kind of stuff. Skin whitening I know about, but....
June 9, 20188 yr Marketers would love this item, they would aim their blurb at: - I want it (along with I don't know why), rather than I need it. And many many naive customers will fall for it.

If there is not enough evidence in all those folders on the desk one must ask how many more folders of evidence do they need. Or are they offering up extra time for an offer to be made to make the problem disappear?

Research indicated there is a huge competitive market for this kind of stuff. Skin whitening I know about, but.... I wonder if any of the buyers/users ever thought that there must be a chemical, perhaps in reality a severe chemical that can make the area surrounding the less coloured (more white)? There is no doubt such a chemical does exist but whether it's good for human skin long-term is another question and probably being avoided. Then it wouldn't take long to develop a nice looking smooth paste which carries the chemical and also add some colour that looks good, and put it in a plastic box with a shape and colour and labelling which tends to copy current expensive products. Now count the Baht rolling in... Edited June 9, 20188 yr by scorecard
