Any news on recent tourist visa applications in Savannakhet? 

 

20 thousand in the bank? Ticket out of Thailand within 60/90 days? Hotel reservations? 

 

Any info greatfully received.

I got my SETV from Savannakhet 3 months ago. I show them;

 

1)Bank statement at least with 20,000 Baht(I show 700 USD)

2)Hotel reservation 3-4 days

3)Flight out 3 months later

You should be prepared with all materials as above, as they may ask for any of them.  They definitely will ask for a bank statement, and possibly will ask for the other items.

2 months ago. They were asking SETV applicants 20k baht bank statement, and the usual passport, form and photocopies.

I had to ferry several people to my hotel to get this done before midday as the copy shop across the road had no internet facility.

However the consulate was informing people in emails that they needed "flight home" ( this obviously really meant onward flight), but not one of the people I spoke to were asked for this.

I'm now told that Kota Bhuru and Penang are asking for 50,000 baht in the bank. I don't know if this has changed in Savanakhet.

I also have not had it confirmed directly by anyone coming from Malaysia ... yet

Would love to hear from anyone more recent who has had to show 50,000.

There was a note on the gate explaining the 20k requirement...has it been changed?

As far as I know ฿20,000, or equivalent in foreign currency is the requirement. Of course, more can’t hurt.

What do you mean "as far as I know"? What are you basing this on?....... at Savannakhet everyone had to produce proof of this and there was a notice on the consulate gate.

If this has changed to the 50000 allegedly requested by Kota Bhuru in Malaysia, I think people would like to know.

So please tell what makes you think this....Like when you are there and what proof was requested.

Was there a week ago.

 

Just gave them:

 

Air Asia flight confirmation booked a few days previous.

Copy of ISA yearly statement Apr 17 to Apr 18.

No hotel booking.

 

Plus usual passport copies, photos, etc.

 

I got the impression as long as you give them a little pile of paper to look at they're happy.

Trying to get some latest information last few weeks etc

 

 

Has anyone recently applied and were they actually asked for an onward travel ticket ??
