TRT clinics offers vs DIY

Recommended Posts

Hi, Im trying to put the puzzle together from what I´ve read here but i dont really get it.

Ive read that most people recommend Dr. Olivier Meyer in Pattaya, or Bumrungrad in Bangkok, or Bangkokhospital Royal hormone. But I dont understand the differences in their offers and treatments, (testosterone replacement therapy, hormone replacement therapy, anti aging). And how does the other DIY route work? Get blood work at a clinic, see a doctor, buy supply on my own and then inject myself or have a nurse do it?

Maximum Performance Wellness Center

Thank you for contacting us. Before any therapy can begin, we require a comprehensive blood test as well as filling out an Evaluation form on this website http://www.maximumclinic.com/contact-us/medical-evaluation-form/ that the doctor will go over with you upon arrival. I suggest that we see you on the morning between 8 AM and 9 AM if possible. For any diagnoses, it is necessary to have a blood test. This is best done early in the morning preferably before 10 AM.

On the night prior to the blood test, please abstain from alcohol, food, and sexual activity as these may affect your blood levels in a negative way. Once we obtain your blood, we will have the results on the same day in the afternoon and decide what the best treatment option for you needed. The cost for the initial blood test is 8,000 Thai baht. Monthly fees for our hormone therapy which includes all medicine, doctor supervision, and in clinic laboratory testing when you’re in Thailand, cost start at 11,000 Thailand baht per month.

If you are going to pick the tests on your own then I found this guide to explain what to get tested for the best;

https://www.ugbodybuilding.com/threads/19800-Important-Blood-Tests-with-Test

Or see what tests maximal performance do for example and then put it together yourself. ( I doesnt seem like they test for Free T though which many think is one of the most important variable)

For TRT follow up the blood work is usually this from what I´ve read:
Free T ,Total T ,Estradiol , TSH , fT4 , fT3 , CBC ,CMP ,ESR , DHEA-S

I'd strongly advise not going the DIY route. Bangkok Royal Life is extremely expensive for blood tests. I've spent around 100k baht in 5 visits and blood tests. They are very knowledgable but expensive for what it is.

I think using one of the clinics who specialise in TRT would be a good way to go about it and they'd be more knowledgable.

I started with Maximum Performance Wellness Center a few days ago and I was happy with them and have confidence in their staff.

http://reddit.com/r/Testosterone is a good knowledgebase also.

8000 baht, for a blood test???

That is robbery.

E2 & Testosterone bloods are about 1000 baht.

CBC Inc lipids, etc, about 900 baht.

Strongly suggest you learn more about TRT.

Even RIA Labs charge 2,500 baht for Free Test.

I don't have a list of what was included in the 8,000, but it seemed pretty comprehensive.

Bangkok Royal Life was charging an average of 15,000 per blood test for fewer tests. The cortisol alone was over 3,000!

Those prices are similar, if not more to UK private clinics.

I know that there is a 100% mark up on blood tests here.

Apart from the specialist  blood tests, Testosterone being one of them, the whole process to test routine samples is less than 15 minutes.

Do you have to go to these overpriced places?

Anyway, are you on trt now - feel better?

I started about 6 years, it just makes me feel normal again.

I definitely think that the Andropause exists in some men.

I've started HCG Monotherapy and I'm on my 3rd shot in and feeling much better already. Just hoping my E2 stays in line and doesn't cause issues.

Certainly worth it without a doubt. The mood improvements are fantastic. I feel alive again.
