Taking THB out of Thailand

Featured Replies

the Indians holidaying in Thailand are getting US-Dollars allocated from the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) which they convert into Baht when in Thailand.

reason: look a the Rupee/Baht exchange rate of the money changers in Thailand. no Thai bank accepts Rupees for Thai Baht!
Wrong

or someone who has dirty money and cant exchange it to $ or bitcoin

Or someone who is doing legal business that u got no clue about.

Go to your local Thai bank and send a wire.

Very slightly off topic...are there any restrictions on carrying Thai Baht on domestic flights (I suspect not) but could they let's say 'unofficially' ask you some questions if it is lets say 2 mil or so? Thanks.

To sum this up.
Its possible to get permit from BOT to export THB cash, even 50mil.
Obtaining that permit is a different story.

and so is 50 million Baht

You can turn over 2mil thb in and out up to 50mil.
Or 1mil 50 times. Heres ur 50mil exported
They will receive rupees Einstein

So what’s wrong with that? Receive 1 million baht at the official rate of exchange plus small fee for the bank you will have INR 20 lakhs. What good is Baht anyway? no merchant will take it even if the notes are perfect and unsoiled.

it seems you have never tried SWIFTing substantial amounts of money out. it's a huge pain in the àrse even if you have FET documents for triple the amount. but go on and ridicule yourself by talking about 50 million.

If you have a limited company then in my experience transferring out anything under USD 50,000 in one transaction is painless and takes just a few minutes.

For amounts over that it can take a little longer, but if you have all the correct documents the transfer will go through.

That said, we don't know how the OP is intending transferring the money out.

I dont talk about swift.

I talk taking it to the airplane in suitcase

I run money exchanges perhaps u heard russian robbing us not long ago.

We know BOT ppl due to multiple licences meetings etc. Therefore we are in position to talk to certain ppl.

Once again as unbelievable it sounds, its possible to get a year licence and export 50mil thb in airplane in suitcase.

Tho obtaining permit is a different story, but it exists.

I know the details of permit too.

Even ur local bank will not know anything about it, we asked Kasikorn manager, not a clue.

Only top bankers from BOT know it I guess.

So thx for ur valuable inputs but hope u get my point, i try explain it as simple as I can.

i don't know what's your definition of "a little longer" is but mine is definitely shorter than the 5½ weeks it took me to swift out USD 155k a few years ago. :annoyed:

FWIW I sent 1 mill. to the UK via internet banking this week using UOB, it took two before it was credited to my HSBC UK account.

THB 1mm is less than the threshold USD 50k where it gets difficult.

no, only small amounts and fancy fees.

Sir u missing whole point of profiting from exchange rates differences. The way u says there is no profit and every kid knows we can SWIFT moneys in and out. This is next level shxx we talk about.

Good then. Banks, Reputable merchants of all things from gold to incense, to bhel puri on Chowpatty beach would turn up their noses to bhat notes even in condition pristine.

If you want to make money, get a job, Trade in Crypto, or marry a rich woman.

No way you can make money on currency trading you will find Governments and Banks have the rules set so they always come out ahead and the little guy loses due to fees and rigged rates. No way to get an export license either. Ideas of cash smuggling is illegal thus against the forum rules.
