FORMER ARMY chief General Teerachai Nakwanich has stepped down as privy councillor.

The Royal Gazette announced yesterday that Teerachai had tendered his resignation pursuant to Articles 11 and 14 of the Constitution.

HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn approved the resignation with immediate effect under a royal order issued on Tuesday. Privy Council President General Prem Tinsunonda countersigned the order.

Teerachai was appointed a privy councillor on December 6, 2016.

Before he joined the Privy Council, Teerachai had a successful military career. He was a former chief of staff at the 1st Army Corps who consistently climbed up the career ladder. Later, he was promoted to deputy chief of the First Army Corps, the deputy chief of the First Army Area, and the chief of the First Army Corps.

Teerachai soared further in the Armed Forces, becoming the Army’s assistant chief of staff and then its deputy chief of staff.

He became the chief of the First Army Area, the assistant chief of the Army, and finally the chief of the Army in 2015. His predecessor was General Udomdej Sitabutr.

Teerachai used to serve as a National Legislative Assembly member as well as the secretary-general of the National Council for Peace and Order.

Why he resigned would have been interesting.

Resignations are instantly dealt with, but signing a piece of paper (new laws) takes 90 days ?

I wonder who will be the replacement?   I am sure it will be announced in due time.

Looks like the Teerachai's Eastern Tiger affiliation is no match against a more mightier force. Perhaps a warning shot across the bow to curb the ambition of the incumbent generals. Let the cage fight begin.

In accordance with forum rules, I have absolutely no comment to make about why this bloodsuckwer stopped sucking blood.

And I still think the army and their amart backers have a very big shock coming. Perhaps not all is as it seems.

Sounds like a corporate / social climber more than a military man.

They're all social climbers YB, bloodsuckers and always on the make, and they are repugnant precisely because of that. And the two major bloodsucker should do the Thai nation a great service and die.

I do fairly despair of these maggots.
