The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is developing an app to help residents shorten the time it takes to take care of household registrations.

Pirapong Sirikasem, deputy director of the BMA’s Strategies and Assessment Department, said the app would allow Bangkok residents to reserve a spot in queue for all sorts of household registration services, including new ID cards; moves in or out of households; marriages, deaths or births; and name or surname changes.

He said the app was being developed following the success of the BMA’s pilot project that allowed its residents to reserve a spot in queue for district offices through the website www.bfc.bangkok.go.th. The five pilot districts are Prawet, Bang Khen, Chatuchak, Kha Na Yao and Bang Khun Thian.

Pirapong said the app would be ready by October, at which time Bangkok residents could use it to reserve queues at all 50 Bangkok district offices. The app would help residents to decide which district offices would be best for them to reserve queues in term of distance and length of wait.
