60 Day SETV Question

Featured Replies

Hello,

Could someone please help with the process of adding another 60 days to my stay in Thailand (plus the 30-day extension form within Thailand)? My understanding per the staff at Udon Thani's Immigration office was that if I left Thailand and returned without renewing the visa (applying for a new visa is my meaning), then they might add up to a maximum of 30 additional days of stay in Thailand upon re-entering. For this reason, I am applying for a new visa.

Thank you,

TR

It depends on which country issued your passport, but for most western countries (Europe, USA...) it is: If you leave Thailand and come back without getting a visa you will get a 30 days visa exempt stamp (limited to max. 2 per calender year at land borders, no official limit by air). These 30 days can be extended by another 30 days at an immigration office inside Thailand, so max. 60 days in total

If you get a SETV visa and then come back to Thailand you will get 60 days on entry which also can be extended by 30 days, so maximum 90 days

Assuming you qualify, if you enter without a visa, i.e. a visa exempt entry, you can get 30 days and apply for a 30 day extension at an immigration office in Thailand.

If you get a tourist visa from an embassy/consulate, you'll get 60 days when you enter and, if you wish, an additional 30 day extension at immigrations in Thailand.
