CHIANG RAI, 28th June 2018, (NNT) - According to the latest reports, rescuers have yet to reach the 13 youths who are believed to be stranded in Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai province.

Officials are working around the clock to drain water out of the cave. They say however that due to challenges in providing electricity to the water pumps, the draining rate is rather slow. Authorities are therefore installing additional power generators to speed up the process. They also indicated that the continuous rain and rising water level are hindering the search and rescue operation.

Meanwhile, Army commander-in-chief General Chalermchai Sitthisart, visited the site, providing moral support to the rescuers. He said that the 800 on-location military officials are doing their best to bring the boys home.

Late in the afternoon three British expert divers went into the cave, to contribute their expertise to the exploration of the inner reaches of the cave. The divers will stay at the site to provide assistance to the Thai officials.

Governor of Chiang Rai Narongsak Osottanakorn said today that the British divers and the SEAL agents are working together. He said officials will also continue draining water out of the cave. He expressed his hope that the missing individuals will be found safe.
