Embassy warns Thais in S Korea as prisoners reach 200

BANGKOK — Thailand warned its citizens living in Seoul, South Korea, not to break the law after the number of Thais in prison there reached 200.

 

Busadee Santipitaks, director general of the Department of Information and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, said Friday that the Thai embassy in Seoul had warned them after receiving reports of more crimes taking place, adding that Thailand’s reputation is being negatively affected.

If overstaying and working illegally leads to imprisonment (and counts) then 200 would not be a big number (caught).

But I doubt they would imprison them for long but expel and red stamp.

 

South Korea is the top spot for Thais working illegally.

Part of the females in the well know red light profession.

"Human trafficking" being the usual cover word.

They know very well what "massage" or the like in S.K. means.

Males in misc. jobs.
