PHUKET:-- The driver of a concrete mixer lorry that crashed in the Darasamut Underpass this afternoon has blamed the accident on a slippery road.

However, police have charged the unnamed driver with reckless driving causing damage to government property.

Speaking to The Phuket News today (July 2), Lt Col Narong Muangdueng of the Wichit Police said he was informed of the accident at 1:40pm.

It must have been the road's fault, because he adapted his speed to the conditions. By no way he might have been going too fast. Cement truck drivers are the best of the best. ?

"blamed the accident on a slippery road"

Yes ... it was raining = reduce speed and drive carefully.  Not drive full speed as usual. ?

"Cement truck drivers are the best of the best." - that comment is not "set in stone" though, is it?  ☺️

Yes, slippery when wet does come to mind.

Somebody needs to take the blame for not keeping the road dry and slip-proof.

It is set in cement, stone and concrete.

I witnessed one cement truck going downhill tailgating a bicycle

with less than 2 meters distance between them

Was the cement truck tailgating the bicycle, or the driver of the cement truck???? ?

They blame vehicles here, particularly the brakes.  It can't possibly be the fault of the driver.  ?
