Flexible hose

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a flexible hose for my air compressor. These are NOT the common water

flex hoses that are available everywhere. This has 1/2" screw terminals. Pictures attached.

I am in Pattaya and have been to almost every hardware store and can not find one.

Has anybody seen these anywhere? Online ?

Many Thanks,

rudi

You say it is not the common water supply attachment hose but the photo 2 sure looks like it.  Or do you mean the 1/2" thread itself is a bit different than used here?

It looks to be rated for higher pressure than a bog standard water hose, plus the fittings look to be NPT or BSP, hence the sealing cone.

That's correct. It's a higher pressure rating, and the fittings are different.

Thaks for that By-Pro link, if I can't find anything off-the-shelf, I will give them a call.

There is a shop in Ban Ampur, out of Pattaya on the way to Bangsare, just past the Ambassador Hotel on the left called Num Chai. It might be worth ringing them or calling in if you are passing, I would hate to think I sent you on a wild goose chase.

I bought this pipe there, so they do sell pneumatics.

Not a problem, I hope you have some luck finding a replacement off the shelf, though TBH I doubt it, it is not something that a hardware store would stock, unless they specialise in compressors.

The Chinese mini compressor on our packing machine uses same jumper pipe on its dump valve which I believe is 1/4 BSP. I got my spares from the Khlong Toei market Bangkok but I do know that the Pattaya Makita shop has spare pumps and maybe some parts so worth a try.

Makita shop -  just back from corner of  Sukhumvit and North Pattaya Road.

If that fails try the hydraulic hose shop on the left just after you turn left off H7 onto Sukhumvit.

I would just cut the present hose away with a hacksaw and fit a std hose with hose-clamp. No need to go buy expensive hose with pressed on fittings at the low pressure. Cut diagonally and split the pressed on fitting.

Brief update. Drove to the North Pattaya shop, they had a short version of the hose.

The idiot sales guy was trying to sell me brass extensions, which in itself was a good idea,

except the thread was slightly different. I suspect one was metric the other English, I could

screw them in half way only. Of course, the idiot sales guy was yelling at me "farang mai rue

ruang" (farang doesn't know shit). I was supposed to use brute force, lol ... Grown up man

with a 3 yo brain, lol.

Anyway, I will next try to make one myself, as somebody else suggested ...

Sorry you had a bad experience they are usually quite helpful. In shops like these you need Thai language to find those with a light on.

Be sure to use pipe that will tolerate the pump head temperature if making yourself.

Sometimes I wish I would not speak Thai and not understand their insults ?
