Bike hire, Phuket airport

Recommended Posts

Looking at hiring a small bike/ scooter from the airport for 1 week

would rather hire from the airport, than pay for return taxi to Karon beaxh/bay and then hire

have Thai licence and ride a Honda Wave up in darkest issaan

is this possible? Have no problems riding in thailand, normally hire bikes whenever we go to places, but normally from near the hotel, not the airport

it would be cheaper to hire bike than pay for return taxi I believe

On another note, hav friends flying in to Phuket airport

willneed transport to Karon Beach/bay?

i assume a standard taxi will not take 4 adults, plus 4 cases, plus hand luggage

a taxi is around 800-1,000 each way so will they have to get two taxis, or can they get a large taxi that will fir them all, apart from the mad minibus ones

thqnks for any advice

pat

thanks Sanmy

i assume they are ok, no rip off fees or passport scams

will check them out and see

thanks again for your help

I rented from them only once. I was a bit nervous because they took the carbon copy of my credit card and ask me to sign on it.

Surprised to see those carbon copy swipers still exist and in use.

However, everything turned out ok and they returned that credit card slip to me when I returned the scooter.

Clearly you  also must be too be a newbie ... it's Patong where all the action hangs out. It's called Karon Beach and a much more sedate area for adult entertainment. Karon is rather tame and family orientated.

I know Patong is the lively place

but have friends from England coming to stay in Karon Beach, so that's where i will be going too

newbie to Phuket, yes,

but been here up north for a few years now, so not sure what your point is

Action ? been there, done it and got the tee shirt long time ago, so not interested in getting ripped off in tourist traps anymore, i like quiet bars, clean beaches and good food, not shit bars and bar girls, overpriced crap food and drinks with drunken farangs

but thanks for the information anyway

You can book a standard van for up to 6 person for only 1020b to karon with

https://www.taxiphuket.com

Family car for up to 4 persons would be 860b but maybe to small for all the luggage.

I use them all the time, also for the return trip to the airport. You book/pay them in advance and they will wait you at the airport/hotel/condo

Never had any problems.

Thanks Crisu

i assume that's 1020 b for the party, not each ?

sounds better than 2 family taxis, which would be needed for all the luggage
