greenchair
Though a bit late to recognise the historical significance of this event. It's great that it has finally been acknowledged. This evacuation and rescue will be recorded in history books around the world. I expect a rise in tourism next year too.

Jonmarleesco
I would hardly have thought it a historical incident fit for the archives.

I am sure that the Thai history books will record that 'Heroic and selfless Thai rescuers [which they are] found their way to the cave shelf where the boys were stuck and liberated them.' The Thai history books will then have a footnote or a set of brackets containing the words: '(Some foreigners also assisted').' That will be it! Popular Post SABloke
"And then Prayuth looked up to the heavens and said, "Hold back your tears", and the rain stopped. He looked across the see of faces at the entrance of the cave, "Do you not want these boys to be free? Would you be happy if they remained in the dark?" He took a deep breath and plunged into the cave. There was silence in the crowd. No one moved, no one looked away. Suddenly there was a murmur from those that were nearest. The murmur grew into cheering as Prayuth emerged, leading all 13 of the lost out of the dark and into the light..."
