Kevin neil
Hi All ive had a Non - immigration O visa for 3 years which is current to Nov this year. i am considering teaching English in a Phuket school initially for 1 year. I have a couple of questions. Will I be able to obtain a work permit whilst still on current non - immigration visa ? If not, can I revert from work permit to non - immigration visa without leaving the country ? Any general advice on teaching English in thai schools would be much appreciated too ? Many thanks in advance
ubonjoe
Are you on a non-o visa issued by a embassy or consulate or a extension of stay based upon retirement issued by immigration? Most work permit office will not accept a application if on a visa or extension based upon retirement. You will likely have to leave the country to get a single entry non-b visa based upon teaching. Then apply for the work permit. If decide to go back to retirement you would not need to leave the country to apply for a extension of stay. After your extension based upon teaching is canceled you could apply for one based upon retirement. For teaching questions it is best to post them here.
