Just tell him not to have those swords hanging around at home ....never know, in case his official GF catches him with his (un)official Mia Noi !!!...could be unsafe for his

Only have a Thai copy Katana a Japanese one can cost 300 + US dollars so tell him to keep it secure.

Not an expert but what you wanna know, there's not much to know except history.

Yeah and with that 300 plus the skies the limit. Always love the old need help for a friend thread lol. 90% of the time which seem to involve weapons of some description. 

Not an expert but my father had one years ago. The Japanese infantry were issued with them in ww2 so alot came back to western countries with soldiers. Not worth much but the proper hereditary samurai ones are meant to have papers inside them. You can pull off the bit at the top of the handle and there is meant to be a scroll inside with the names of the different owners. So I was told anyway-never seen. The one we had opened up but nothing inside.
