Do I need to show 20.000 THB in cash when I arrive in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa?

In Thailand, there is what is written in the laws, the decrees etc...and on the other side there is what the officer in front of you,  in the tight uniform and shiny parachute wings decides,  or makes up,  and you will have little chance to get it done the other way....

 

...be on the safe side, always be prepared to bump into a bully officer who enjoys picking on foreigners.....carry the ca$h with you and thus avoid the harassment,,,?

Better safe than sorry.

Sure the likelihood is low but better pack 600 Euro and be safe.

And cash is king anyway. Most Baht for the Euro.

You only need to show the baht or foreign equivalent if asked. It is highly unlikely you will be asked.

 

They only tend to ask to see money if they are looking for reasons to deny entry.
