Just been to CW to extend my stay for another year. Took less than 2 hours.

They also reset my 90 day report so I now don't have to redo it until the 8th of October. Which is nice. 

You didn't renew your O-A Visa.

That Visa expired long ago.

 

You got an extension to your permission to stay, which is a permit, not a Visa.

Your original O-A Visa allowed multiple entries.

Your current extension doesn't allow any entries.

You purchase a re-entry permit, which allows re-entry from the permit, and keeps your current permission to stay valid.

 

Single entry 1,000 baht, multi entry 3,800 baht.

You can apply for the re-entry permit and the extension at the same time.

 

A lot of expats believe they extended the Visa, leave the Country and on return only get a 30 day Visa exempt entry. Hard way to learn the difference between a Visa and an extension.

I am well aware I can get a re-entry permit. 

I was making the point simply because you decide to correct me for mentioning a visa (which I didn't) and then made a mistake yourself.

Actually O-A is a visa and you said you renewed it.  Believe being your first extension from an O-A visa stay made it count as 90 day report is what you mean?

The heading of your topic is 'O-A Renewal Today'

An O-A is a Visa type.

 

Now if your heading had been 'Extension Renewal Today' I wouldn't have left a comment.
