For my original Retirement VISA, and several renewals I used a service and they used my bankbook to prove my income. This year I want to renew it myself with proof of income from the US Embassy. Should I expect any problems?

Thanks

You might if you ask Immigration for a Visa.

Since entry from your original Visa, you have in fact just been extended your permission to stay based on retirement.

It is a permit, not a Visa.

You'll be applying for a retirement extension, form TM7.

Good idea to do it yourself and learn the easy steps that agents charge ridiculous fees for.

Providing you have the Income letter from your Embassy and the correct copies of other documentation, it should be plain sailing.

Which office will you be applying at?

Completed form TM7.

Passport.

Copy of photo/details page of passport.

Copy of original Visa (from which you got your first extension - Non Imm type)

Copy of last extension stamp.

Copy of last entry stamp.

TM6 Departure card.

Copy of TM6 card.

Income letter from US Embassy.

Proof of address, such as, rental agreement and/or signed copies of landlords Tabien Baan and ID card.

Passport photo 4 x 6 cm.

Some offices request a map with location of your residence. (Not sure about CW).

The fee 1,900 baht.

Form TM7 should be printed on both sides of one single sheet of paper.

TM 7 Extension of Stay.pdf

If you intend leaving the Kingdom during the next year, don't forget to apply for a re-entry permit.

Single entry 1,000 baht, multiple entry 3,800 baht.

It has to be applied for in person.
