BANGKOK, 11th July 2018 (NNT) - The Prime Minister has urged all involved to produce concrete results from all initiatives before the general election takes place.

Col. Taksada Sangkachan, deputy spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, on Tuesday revealed the latest order from PM Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, for the Cabinet to work on during the next eight months or before the general poll is organized.

Col. Taksada said that the PM has urged government officials and all state agencies to speed up the execution of all major projects in order to achieve the final goals for the public.

Among such major plans are the reform of the police, the reform of the education system, the allocation of land for people across the country, the management of waste and garbage and the overhaul of the public administrative system, according to Col. Taksada.

She added that the PM also stressed the significance of the country’s disaster management system that must be clearly set up and in line with how the private sector is operating.

Col. Taksada went on to say that the weekly Cabinet meeting has approved the proposed retreat during July 23 and 24 in the second zone of the lower part of the Northeast, where the PM will personally tour Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani after the mobile Cabinet meeting there.

And so, with happiness restored to the people, he rode off into the sunset.

cannot be done; absent meritocracy, far too many people in the wrong jobs;  nepotism, cronyism, buying jobs virtually guarantees incompetence

PM Gen[eral] Prayut Chan-o-cha

Is there some irony that someone with the military rank of general is ordering a general election?

Reforms, Management and Overhauls doesn't seem to concrete to me specially in Thailand ! maybe more jobs for the boys prior to an election

major plans = dreams. We've heard this from them before, about police and education reforms.

So after 4+ wasted years which commenced with fanfares and grand talk about how there would be so many wide-ranging 'reforms' - only now does he start scrabbling around desperately trying to 'reform' something, anything (and it is all talk anyway, of course).

Pathetic.

Yes, the future looks bright. The future is - more of the same (this time, with a veneer of [rigged] democratic 'legitimacy') ...

Let's just make sure this election is stitched up tighter than a chickens arse on Xmas day my loyal followers .

Excellent point! It is like cramming for an exam when in school, in the end you just have to go with what you have since you have not been diligent throughout you tenure. But it will be interesting to see what the minions come up with for results and then the spin the prospective PM puts on it as he tries to convince his detractors that although he has been strong arming the opposition, squandering state funds, moving cronyism from the old players to his preferred players, and his deputy has become a laughing stock, that he is the man for the job.

In China three weeks ago, had to take part in a fire drill.   Must say it was well managed a bit of a good time.  Much different than the hap hazard, poorly executed and meaningless "reforms" that are suppose to take place in Thailand.  If this man has anything to do with government in the future, Thailand's neighbors will reap the benefits.
