6 month stay

Featured Replies

Any problem y'all see with using  two SETVs and an exempt to stay no more than 6 months between October and May 2018-2019? Age 63 US citizen laying the groundwork for retirement in 2020. I know about extensions etc but have some scheduling issues with a trip to Cambodia with family...the plan isarrive on SETV, extend, take a run to Lao, come back on waiver, then leave and get another SETV....

why not an METV?

Shouldn't be any problem.

Too many hoops...

Tourist Visa = 60 days + 30 day extension local Immigration 1,900 baht.

Another 60 day TV from Lao + 30 day extension = 6 months.

Make sure you buy a re-entry permit before visiting family in Cambodia.

No hoops, not all Consulates follow The rules

There is little benefit in getting an METV for the OP's planned trip. It would only save one overnight stay in a neighboring country to get the second SETV.

The plan now sits as 60+30 SETV

Go to Lao for Week or two

Go back to BKK on exempt

Two weeks or so go to Cambodia, get new SETV

Back toBKK

Well they do at the Thai Embassy in DC

You don't say where in US you are from but METV in LA is easy schmeasy. A lot less hassle that what you have planned.
