Tourist Visa in KL-Onward Flight ?

Featured Replies

I'm heading to KL next week for a tourist visa. I don't have an onward flight out of Thailand scheduled. I don't think I had one long ago when I got a tourist visa in KL, and never had one in Vientiane or HK. Any late breaking news about KL and onward flights ? Thanks.

If it your first visa on artival in ages extremely low chance they will ask. Problems happen when taking the piss by using visa after visa so they think you might be working. If they ask just say you want to take the coach to Singapore.

He wants to apply for a tourist visa for Thailand at the embassy in KL.

Also I would guess he does not qualify for a 15 day visa on arrival for Thailand since he may not be from one of the 21 countries that can apply for one.

Back from KL last night. FWIW I wasn't asked for onward flight out of Thailand documentation. My impression continues to be that some consulates stipulate onward flight is necessary so they can deny a tourist visa if they so desire. So, best to have it I suppose. A roll of the dice.

Interesting. Thank you for this quite surprising report. What is your nationality and age? How many tourist visas were there already in your current passport? Have you spent much time in Thailand over the last year?

USA, and lots of visas in my passport (even tons more in the old passport). I've been in Thailand, this time, for a year as of next month. I'm 65, so probably not as much suspicion that I'm working. The USA passport and age likely work in my favor, but who knows ?
