Hello to the forum!

I'd just a interesting experience at Phuket town immigration.

Either I couldn't make myself clear ....

" I wanna extend my extempt entry for 1900 baht and 30 more days, which form to fill out please

Phuket Immigration Volunteer:

You need ... (list of documents for certificate of residence)

I again "I just wanna extend my extempt entry for 30 days"

PIV: "they getting more strict these days"

...or there a requirementas, i have not found via internet yet.

I am a bit new to extensions, I try to stay away from "incountry official officers", so I have scanned via google this topic beforehand.

And found just copy passport front page, visa/extempt entry page, 1900 baht.

Ok, I decided to opt out and did buy a ticket to Singapore for a weekend trip, instead, but:

Is that a big missunderstanding or the new guy in town?

I think I was in the right section, I got send down from the first floor office into the basement office:

"This short extensions are handled there, now"

But I may have run into a "everyone needs a certificate of residence" issue with one PIV "on duty", here.

ok, as I wrote, I am not in the need for this extension, this time.

But still would like to know, if friends of mine will get in trouble on their usual 6 week Trip.

Or better should extend, if needed,  that on their travel somewhere but in Phuket!

Thanks for any input!

Itsdifficult ?

What they incorrectly calling a certificate of residence was a TM30 report of your presence at the residence where you are staying done by the owner or manager of it.

If staying in hotel they should of already done it online.

Thanks, ubonjoe, for this quick reply.

I got a TM30 form, yes.

Plus a power of attorney form plus the list for "document for certificate of residence".

So I opted not to bother my landlord for just a 30 day extension.

I was expecting to fill out one form, perhaps it is the TM30, after my internet search

Plus bringing the usual copies and the money.

I even had a copy with my flight datas with me, which is usually not really requested, isn't it?

But not to bring all the stuff for a certificate of residence

So does that sounds about right for you?

Or does it go into the same drawer, like the new Phuket Immigration-bosses:

-‘Better if you do’: Phuket Immigration chief urges foreigners to re-register addresses, even if staying off-island just one night"

Which I found searching for the things to bring to the Immigration, too.

thanks a lot

Itsdifficult

Ps.:I have attached some pictures from the things I got at the Office:
