July 18, 20187 yr Hello I have been offered employment in Iraq. I need to get a one year work visa for Iraq. I am a British Citizen on a retirement visa here in Thailand. Can I get a 1 year work visa for Iraq from their Embassy in Bangkok. I have been told I may have to get the work visa from the Iraq Embassy in the Country of my passport that is a trip to UK. Much easier if I can do this from Thailand, if not maybe Malaysia or Singapore Any information on this most appreciated. Thanks in Advance Regards
July 18, 20187 yr Iraq doesn't have any representative in Thailand anymore, the closest to here is in KL. http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/information/1694/25859-IRAQ-(Kuala-Lumpur).html No idea regarding the issuing of work visas to non residents, best to contact them and ask.
July 18, 20187 yr Mate of mine working on a contract through the Iraq MoI had his passport details sent in advance. He was then on an their immigration list, paid them US$202 and got the work visa on arrival. Showed a copy of the MoI letter at check-in and was allowed to board in BKK.

July 20, 20187 yr Author Hello Thanks for the interesting comments So far I am told that you must be in your home country to apply for a work visa for Iraq, hence UK for me Also the medical check requirements are very strict, HIV, HBSAG, HCV and MANTOUX ( TB ) test. All must be done in recognized UK Lab. cost I think about 500 pounds Comments appreciated to include and advise where to get the medical checks done in the area of Manchester, UK. Thanks
