Work Visa for Iraq from Thailand

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have been offered employment in Iraq.

I need to get a one year work visa for Iraq.

I am a British Citizen on a retirement visa here in Thailand.

Can I get a 1 year work visa for Iraq from their Embassy in Bangkok.

I have been told I may have to get the work visa from the Iraq Embassy in the Country of my passport that is a trip to UK.

Much easier if I can do this from Thailand, if not maybe Malaysia or Singapore

Any information on this most appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Regards

Mate of mine working on a contract through the Iraq MoI had his passport details sent in advance. He was then on an their immigration list, paid them US$202 and got the work visa on arrival. Showed a copy of the MoI letter at check-in and was allowed to board in BKK.

Nope.

The only place you can get a Visa is through your employer, who will get it in Country through the MOI. and email you the details.

Anything else is a scam.

Hello

Thanks for the interesting comments

So far I am told that you must be in your home country to apply for a work visa for Iraq, hence UK for me

Also the medical check requirements are very strict, HIV, HBSAG, HCV and MANTOUX ( TB ) test. All must be done in recognized UK Lab. cost I think about 500 pounds

Comments appreciated to include and advise where to get the medical checks done in the area of Manchester, UK.

Thanks
