No one has even the slightest idea of what it is that you want.

We don't have a mirror image of your XP installation on USB Flash drive.

Perhaps you need to be a lot more clear on what is is exactly that you feel that you need and perhaps furnish exact model details of your laptop.

XP Recovery Console as before. or any recovery image, such as this; http://www.mediafire.com/file/nqwfzmzzjnk/Vista_Recovery_Disc.iso/file  to boot into the Recovery Environment in order to select Command Prompt. You can use Rufus to create the Bootable image from the .iso

hello, do i just copy this file(s) into an empty USB stick

and that is enough to boot up the norton tool in DOS ?

No, that won't work.

You need to use a small utility to  to transfer the .iso to the usb and make it bootable .

Suggest Rufus ( https://rufus.akeo.ie/ ) I, personally use the portable version.

Do you want the Norton ghost 15 .iso so you can make a bootable USB ?

Is so it is available here ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/linked_files/Ghost/NGH1501_AllWin_English_SrdOnly.iso

(If not then I misunderstood)

well, the problem is that i cant boot from DVD,

so i need to boot up with USB,

and then also have the norton tools so i can reinstall

my mirror image,

and i dont know how to create both (USB boot + norton tools)

on a USB stick

Posted

1, Download Norton ghost  iso  (see my post #5)

2, Download Rufus portable  (my post #8)

Run Rufus - Insert  blank usb (select in Device) Select the NortonGhost iso in the 'boot selection' field)

NOTE All existing date on the usb will be erased.

Start Rufus to produce bootable usb.

Boot from usb.

You should now be in Norton Ghost. Select your  XP image and Restore.

As suggested earlier;

Example with an Ubuntu image;

rufus_en.png.4a053b298797b76ae0f8113fb55d9b61.png

You click Select and then navigate to the newly downloaded .iso image and double click to insert it into the program interface. Then click Start.

Does you computer's BIOS have the ability to boot from USB? Assuming your computer is from the XP era, it may not be able to. Check in your BIOS or start preferences (usually one of the function keys on boot).

Chrisints Hello, notice your knowledge of Unix and USB boot loader wxperience

Can you help resolve problems accessing the internal flash memory embedded Windows CE6 operating system... I have three Windows OS embedded  GPS portable  Navigation pads that I want to examine

the CE6 start up and ce6 registry files from the USB port or the SD card boot loader.

All three GPS start up and display the original embedded  touch screen menu and a direct access using

USB port requires XP software using .NET tools with Active X... The problem is to find a way to Edit

examine internal FLASH memory using Linux or W7 OS as the USB access tools

What started the trouble with the Three GPS is the glass touch screen  metal coper wire overlay cracked inside parked vehicle and after locating replacement touch screens are now dead un calibrated not used

the three GPS can only boot up and show the display menu selections that can not be accessed with

uncalibrated non set up touch screen over lay...

I understand a SD card loaded same as a USB boot can reload the EEPROM embedded CE6 calibration

start up software however the factory in China / Hong Kong offer zero support for the old CE6 Microsoft

Opertinfg System

Please advise if you have any solutions / contacts / etc to pursue  these GPS alternate solutions or

discard them in the trash. Thanks for listening
