Hi there,

If I go to Singapore for a multi entry O visa, can anyone tell me if the money has to be in an account with my name, or can it be in an account in my wifes name? Also do I have to show a record of my account if I apply in KL for a multi entry O visa. I am 35 years of age and my eldest child is 8, if that makes a difference.

For the name it should definitely be yours (asked imm recently). However, as to how much has to be in your account for how long I recommend you get the document from Suan Plu office (they have them ready). I was once asked for 800,000, once for 400,000, once for 500,000... guess things like this keep changing.

The Immigration Bureau has no say about requirements by an embassy/consulate for the issuance of a visa. Immigration’s requirements are for change of visa status and for extension of permission to stay.

JimiDee, you should email the Singapore embassy to ask them.

No report so far that KL has asked for evidence of 400k in your account.
