Throwback: McCartney left fans feeling emotional with the clip (PA)

Paul McCartney has been hailed a “legend” after recreating the iconic Beatles Abbey Road album cover almost 49 years after the original image was taken.

The 76-year-old Hey Jude singer sent fans into a frenzy after he replicated the famous snap which was shot by photographer Iain MacMillan on August 8, 1969.

He simply captioned the Instagram video: “@maryamccartney#PaulMcCartney #EgyptStation#AbbeyRoad.”
