Thappraya Road Expansion Begins

Featured Replies

The expansion of Thappraya Road has begun. Which is great, as it now takes 15 to 20 minutes to travel that short section of road where it turns into one lane going from Jomtein to Pattaya in the evening. I would appreciate any answers to the following questions.

A- How long do you think it will take? 3 to 5 years? 2 to 4 years? 1 to 3 years?

B- For the life of me I can not determine how they are going to be able to make it four lanes going under the bridge. Do you think they can?

C- On the section of the road that is curved after you go under the bridge heading to Pattaya from Jomtien have they bought out those buildings yet? Are they going to buy out those buildings? If they don’t buy out those buildings then what is the point of doing the expansion at all, since this portion of the road will just be a parking lot.

D- Do you think the guy who just built those new yellow shop houses there did it just to get a larger buyout than the empty land would of given him?

B and C - I think the idea is to make the road go into 3rd road, not the already congested 2nd Road.

Who says that the 2 lanes will be doubled to either side? What to think of an elevated Thappraya road? :o
