A 73 year old man is in police custody after a double murder in Ban Phaew district of Samut Sakorn on Tuesday.

Song sae-tang had been having an argument with his wife.

This led to him shooting his wife's younger sister at her Som Tam stall. Her son was also shot dead.

Buaphan Mamothanang, 55, was shot in the mouth. Her son Jakraphan Seusuwan, 33, was shot twice in the chest.

Song fled the scene towards Ratchaburi and dumped his vehicle intending to continue his journey by other transport to Kanchanaburi.

He spoke to an abbot at a temple who persuaded him to explain what he had done.

The abbot spoke about the path of righteousness and advised him to give himself up. The abbot then contacted the investigating police back at the scene of the crime.

Ban Phaew police told Daily News reporters today that the suspect is now in custody.

A reenactment is now set to be held.

What a great headline!

Proof of reincarnation if ever it was needed: murdering an abbot twice.

Or does it mean he only murdered one abbot, but shot him in the head twice - in the temple?

Samut Sakorn? I thought Temple Abbot was adjacent to Temple Meads in Bristol.
