bbabythai
We've just renovated a ground floor of a 4 story building. New gyprock / plaster ceiling with down lights etc. We need to install one of the big square flat air con systems in one side of a wall that ajoins the next door shop. We thus would have to run the 8m air con pipes in our new ceiling and out the other side to the compressor. Is this safe to do? thanks
Crossy
No safety issues whatever, provided it is done correctly. Don't let the man just rest the pipes on top of the ceiling and check the installation manual for the correct size of pipe and additional gas charge. If you are installing on an inside wall your biggest issue will be routing the condensate pipe to outside or a drain.
sometimewoodworker
Assuming that you mean a cassette AC like thisthe pipe is about 10 metres to the outside wall thenabout another 5 metres to the outside unit so you can easily do it
