To date, 241 dams have been built along the Mekong River or its tributaries. Over a hundred more are planned or under construction.

Good God, I had no idea it was that bad, the silting must be horrendous 

241 dams to control water in the Mekong delta which used to take care of itself..

now under management we have extensive flooding & issues

when will they learn to leave things alone or get an education in how to do it properly!

Thailand will now be heavily reliant on power sold to them by Laos. Hopefully there won't be too many power outages in Laos like there was recently or more collapses of poorly constructed dams.

Still, Thailand has the sun and the wind to rely upon. And some batteries for when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow; that should do it. And when Bangkok is submerged they won't need all that much power anyway.
