Weeboon.com, the social fundraising platform dedicated to Thailand, has recently launched its new philanthropy initiative coming in a series of charity events named Boon² (pronounced Boon Square) and targeting young professionals who want to give back.

Boon² concept is to make donating fun.

It provides a fresh infrastructure to young philanthropists but also creates a sustainable movement for grassroots NGOs.

Based on a live crowdfunding, the concept brings together a charities pitching contest and a young professionals networking party.

Each edition features a pitch from three charities followed by an interview from the MC and a Q&A session with the audience.

Participants pre-donate a minimum amount on Weeboon.com prior to the event, receive a token (charity voucher) in return and use it at the event, right after the pitches, to decide which charity their donation will support.

Event ends with a closing networking cocktail involving all the parties.

Charities receive 100% of the funds raised minus a 5% project fee to Weeboon to cover admin and overhead costs.

The first edition of Boon² is set to happen in Bangkok on Thursday September 27 and is sponsored by TRUE Together, Wine Connection, Servis Hero and Blue Elephant Restaurant and Cooking School.

The initiative has also received a lot of support from several strategic partners including startup incubators TRUE Incube and Impactech, chambers of commerce CANCHAM and BeLuThai, social enterprises SocialC and Genius Minds, MidasPR Group and the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University.

For this edition of Boon², the actor and successful entrepreneur Paul Pattarapon (พอล ภัทรพล) will deliver his views on social issues in Thailand before the pitches.

It should be also noted that a free flow of wine, soft drinks and succulent food fingers will be served during the young professionals networking party following the end of the votes.

Tickets are available right now at www.weeboon.com/boon2 (limited seats).
