Au Pair - Short Term Assignments

Featured Replies

My wife is Chinese and I'm from the UK and study Chinese – we are both really busy and are looking to engage a Mandarin speaking (Chinese?) Au Pair to help our young children – I know this is difficult but I understand that there has been a relaxation in the regulations recently as Au Pairs are not formally paid and usually just receive their tickets, subsistence and pocket money – often recent graduates.

The ideal assignment duration would be for 3-6 months

Any suggestions?

Although it will be more expensive, I would look for a bilingual Thai who is interested in making some money prior to continuing her education. A few such people do exist. You could inquire via International schools who teach in Chinese. Thai Chinese people may or may not speak any English.
