miami honorary thai consulate questions

Featured Replies

List of documents needed for Tourist Visa from Thai Honorary Consulate in Miami FL.  Got two questions:

Item 2:   the visa application asks for contact in Thailand.    Won't have one.  What do you do?  Just wing it and put down maybe the manager of the hotel you are thinking of staying at?

Item 5:  Bank statement showing $700.  Easy enough, but is there an implied or needed seasoning period that shows 700 for several months?

Just trying to do things right so no go backs or extra trips.

Thanks

1. Your actual Passport or Travel Document. (Passport or Travel Document must not expire within 6 months and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page). 2. One visa application form completely filled out (black and blue ink only)  3. Two passport-size photographs (2″x2″) (photocopy or photo taken from Photostat will not be accepted). Photographs must have a light color background with a full- face view of the person without wearing a hat or dark glasses and covering up shoulders Photos must be taken within 6 months. 4. A copy of flight confirmation/reservation, showing going from US to Thailand and leaving from Thailand (The name of the applicant must indicated clearly) 5. A copy of recent bank statement ($700 per person and $1,500 per family) (The name of the applicant must indicated clearly) , In case of submitting family bank statement a proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.

I assume you mean reference in Thailand under 5 on this form http://www.ibuildwebs.com/thaiconsulate/Thailand-Visa-Application.pdf.

You could probably leave that blank. I don't think they would expect a tourist to have a reference here.

It only has to be in the bank on the date you apply for the visa. The $700 is to meet the standard 20k baht required for all visa applications.

On the German Thai Visa application form they have a note that the contact in Thailand field is only required for business visas, probably in USA it's similar

You don’t need to provide a contact. Just leave it blank.

No seasoning needed.
