Are you already married to a Thai?

Are you planning to live full time in Thailand, or live mostly in the UK and make more than one visit the Thailand per year?

You just need a Single Entry Non-Immigrant 'O' visa that you should be able to get from any of the Consulates in person, or the Embassy in person or by post. You'll need a copy of your marriage certificate and a copy of your wife's passport or ID.

You'll be granted 90 days on entry to Thailand. In case you don't know the drill .... Towards the end of the 90 days you can apply for a 1 year extension of stay based on being married to a Thai. You need to maintain a minimum bank balance of at least 400K in a Thai account in your name for two months before apply, OR have an income, certified by the British Embassy (can be done by post), of at least 40K pm. You can reapply to extend your stay every year.

No. A financial requirement is listed on the Embassy website, but just ignore it as it's not enforced. If you apply by post to London the passport/visa is usually be back within a week.
