3 pagados pass to myanmar and back?

Featured Replies

has anyone crossed here recently?

is the crossing restricted to thai / myanmar citizens only?

if foreigners allowed, any visa facilities at the border or is a

visa from myanmar embassy required?

if allowed into myanmar, can return to thailand with re-entry permit?

interested in thru travel, maybe return in a week, not out/back visa run.

A far as I know it is still restricted to Thais and Myanmarese.

Lots of talk about it becoming a permanent checkpoint but it has not happened yet.

You can cross into Myanmar there but just to the border area, not further into the country. So of course no visa facilities etc.

I’ve crossed the border here several times. There’s a small immigration office right on the border and it never has more that a few people waiting at a time as the Thais don’t need any paperwork to cross. Most tourists rarely travel further than the three Pagodas which are in Myanmar (there are small replicas on the Thai side). There are a number of shops on the Thai side selling the usual lacquerware and wooden souvenirs. There a number of shops on the Thai side selling Thai,, Myanmar and foreign alcohol & cigarettes at cheap prices but beware that the vendors inform local customs / immigration officers and you’ll be stopped and searched at the checkpoint enroute to Sangkhlaburi and the alcohol and cigarettes will be confiscated. There is another border crossing on the other side of Sangkhlaburi but this is only for local use.
