PM Prayuth Chan-ocha speaks Monday at a convention in Bangkok.

BANGKOK — Junta leader Prayuth Chan-ocha was evasive Monday on whether a possible change to elections law by the assembly would further delay the next election.

Prayuth was on his way into the Government House when asked by reporters if the proposed amendment by the junta-appointed National Legislative Assembly to change the selection of poll inspectors would affect the timing of the election.

There will not be a poll delay as there are no real intentions of holding one in the first place.......:whistling:

Anyone see some similarities?

Given that the legislature does nothing without permission it is a little insincere that Prayut does not answer the question.

Christonabike not another evasive Thai .. Jeez this is a common ( and defining ? ) characteristic of Thailand is it not .?

And he wonders why the people of Thailand do not want a leader from the military.

One thinks he is the son of God and the other is a carpenter from Nazareth?

The sooner this overstating visitor is gone the faster the maids can clean up a 4 year mess

There won't be an election this year, there will be an election next year.  That's been the case every year since the coup, and will be the case every year until the junta finds it advantageous to leave, with the leader's bank accounts well stuffed.

Perhaps he just wants to get in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest serving PM without a coup

That would be funny if it wasn't true. Instead if is frightening.

Prayuth probably wonders why the question was even asked since everyone knows that nothing happens without his approval.

Don't agree entirely. I think he'll keep delaying as long as possible, or at least until he is certain he will be the winner.... and we've already seen the tactics being used.

Delay is not a choice. Setting up a rigged election is more difficult than one would think.
