An Thai-Australian woman has been charged and five Thai nationals detained over immigration offences as a result of simultaneous raids on ‘escort agencies’ in Fyshwick, Canberra, this week. The Canberra Times has reported that a Canberra court has heard one witness reported being subject to a $50,000 debt which she was being forced to ‘pay back’ by providing sex services to customers. Popular Post vinegarbase
Seems like Australia needs to crack down hard! Frequent immigration inspections to be sure to check those working without a work permit or visa overstayers, GPS tracking, mandatory travel insurance, mandatory address registration within 24 hrs at any residence, 90 day reporting, banning foreigners from owning land or houses. Sounds like something Thailand would do, why not treat them the same? 10

Popular Post PatOngo
A disgraceful act perpetrated by Thais on Australian soil. I'm disgusted! I hope at least they reported to immigration every 90 days! Edited August 17, 2018 by PatOngo 4

Well..let's face it..Thai's are wonderful bunch of perpetrators.I am not sure that they are claiming the numbah won hub of perpetration just as yet but sooner or later I am sure that they will go for the spot if they are encouraged to do so..
GreasyFingers
I know Australia is expensive but how could you get $50,000 in the red before you even started work. They must have believed they would get $2000 a throw instead of 2000 baht.
oldrunner
Transportation, Nice clothes (why any clothes?), Luxury accommodations?, $50,000 easy. Divided by 2000 Baht ($60 US) = 833 Services.

car720
They are better off getting caught and sent home than being sent north and fed to the crocodiles.
lanista
Interesting that its the Fed Capital and not the big cities. For many years Canberra was the only place in Australia where the production and distribution of porn movies was legal. It was a flourishing business which presumably took a hit with the arrival of free online porn. Alot of Australian men have dumped their Thai gf's and wives in brothels or sent them out as escorts. Brits and Euro's used to get paid 100k baht to take their Thai 'partner' to Australia. Its getting alot tougher. Immigration police used to do regular clean outs of brothels in the cities most common being Thai and Filipino girls. Dont know if thats still the case maybe Russian and Chinese girls have risen to the top.
