Fire damages plastics factory in Nakhon Pathom

By The Nation

A fire broke out in the warehouse building of a plastic ware factory in Nakhon Pathom early on Saturday.

Alerted of the fire at 3.15am, the Pho Kaew police station coordinated with nearby tambons to dispatch 30 fire engines to Tri Atthaboon factory on Buddha Monthon 5 Road in Tambon Rai Khing, Samphran district.

Firefighters took about 30 minutes to control the blaze inside the building, which was used for storing plastic pellets, chemicals and equipment.

No one was injured and there were no people inside the warehouse when the fire broke out.

Somyos Sirimek, 24, a security officer, said he was guarding the entrance to the factory's compound when a local resident ran to tell him that a fire had been spotted inside. Somyos ran to check and called police.

Forensic evidence police have yet to check the scene to determine the fire’s cause.
