File Wont Delete From Desktop

Featured Replies

i have a file sittin on my desktop

an empty folder ( new folder)

not sure when i created it, but it just wont pi@# off

i did try and delete from the command prompt

but i couldnt get it to work

( i dont have dos xperience)

is there any free ware around that could handle the task ?

thanks stu

ah....stu , the freeware to do this is called dos... :o

what operating system are you using..

what is the path to the offending folder? ( highlight, right click, properties )

windoze has a habit of flagging a few directories as system directories which will not allow you to delete them under windoze. ( eg. temporary internet files )

these files/folders must be deleted under dos.

you can get some freeware tweak utilities that will insert lines into your autoexec.bat file to do some of theses things on startup. ( though not sure about xp )

I hope you have run adaware and spybot..
