The National Water Resource Office issued a warning to people in 31 provinces to brace for heavy and very heavy rains in the coming week as it scheduled an urgent meeting with relevant agencies to handle the situation.

The 31 provinces to face torrential rains are Chiang Mai, Phayao, Nan, Uttradit, Phitsanuloke, Phetchabun, Mae Hong Son and Tak in the North; Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nong Khai, Bung Karn, Nakhon Phanom, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Kalasin, Roi-et, Yasothorn, Muk Dahan, Amnart Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani in the Northeast; Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi and Prachuab Khiri Khan in the western region; Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaew, Chanthaburi and Trat in the East and Ranong in the southern region.

Mr Samroeng Saengphuwong, deputy secretary-general of the National Water Resource Office, said Wednesday that water situations in five major dams still warrant close monitoring as water level is beyond 80 percent of their capacities.

Been pissing down hard for a week during this current wave.

Expect the river systems to rise.

More flooding on it's way - dependent on locale.

Still dry in my part of Surin. Very little or no rain.☹️

Seems to be the scenario that caused the massive flooding in 2011. Ground saturated in many places here in the North, only one place for the rains to go and that is southwards.

It's a tropical phenomenon called the rainy season. Why is it described by newspapers as something somehow unusual, unexpected, and unplanned for?

Here we go yet again warning people of rain during the rainy season.

Heavily overcast in this part of Kanchanaburi for weeks but I can count the number of days of meaningful rain on one finger!

Still using our garden and vegetable patch sprinklers every day so will be nice to get some real rain if only to replenish our storage ponds.

Here in Wichianburi ,Phetchabun province had tremendous downpour the other night, has rained nearly ever night for a week, all the ponds and small dams are full, haave 2 next to my house full to the brim, luckily we built our land up a fair bit, still a worry though.

As it's been cycled as a natural course for ages.

It just is.

Needn't be over thought.

And again the rain might take a detour around our area.

Drizzle at best today.

Watering pumps are running 24h.

My garden in Sattahip is bone dry.  It has hardly rained for months.

Well, it is nice to have a little heads up right?

Rainy season has been mild so far this year in Bangkok.  Almost nice, good breeze with mix of sun and clouds, not hot.  Not many prolonged downpours.

To me weather news is helpful.
